Our story

Started by teens who refused to look away.

Paws For A Cause was founded in July 2025 by three high-school juniors in Okemos, Michigan. They had seen too many animals slip through the cracks in shelters, on streets, in their own neighborhoods. So they built a nonprofit that teens could lead and adults could trust.

Today we're a multi-state network organizing supply drives, fostering coordination, adoption awareness, and community education. The mission is simple: no paw left behind.

  • Real, fast help. Adoption events, supply drives, foster support that ship in weeks, not years.
  • Resources that stick. Toolkits and education for new pet owners and aspiring youth advocates.
  • Powered by youth. Students plan, fundraise, and partner with shelters, clubs, and local businesses.
  • Built to grow. Mentors, partners, and volunteers welcome. There's room for everyone who cares.

What we do

Four ways we show up for animals.

Different shapes of work, same shared mission: meet shelters where they are and bring real help.

Adoption events

High-energy days that connect families with shelter pets ready for forever homes. We bring the volunteers, the materials, and the warmth that makes adoption feel like welcoming family.

Plan an event with us

Supply drives

Food, blankets, toys, and essentials, delivered to the shelters that need them most.

Youth leadership

Teens leading campaigns, partnerships, and education that ripple through communities.

Community outreach

Awareness campaigns that turn neighbors into advocates, and bystanders into rescuers. We meet people where they are: schools, libraries, festivals, places of worship.

How we work

A four-step playbook, refined event by event.

Every campaign moves through the same loop. Here is what that looks like in practice, scroll through.

01

Listen

We start by talking to shelters and rescue partners. What do they actually need this month? Food, blankets, foster homes, volunteer hours? We write it down before we move.

02

Mobilize

We coordinate volunteers, set drop-off points, and rally schools, families, and sponsors. The goal is not noise. The goal is a list of confirmed people, places, and resources.

03

Deliver

We host the event, run the drive, train the volunteers, and hand-deliver supplies to partners. Photos and counts go up the same day.

04

Share

We report back, publicly. Numbers, photos, lessons learned. Then we do it again, better. Transparency is the foundation that lets the next campaign go farther.
