What we do

Practical ways students help animals.

Different work, same goal: meet shelters and rescues where they are and bring real help.

01

Volunteer coordination

We connect students with hands-on volunteer opportunities at partner shelters, rescues, and community events.

02

Supply drives

We organize collections of food, blankets, toys, and other essentials and deliver them to partner organizations.

03

Adoption awareness

We share adoption information from local shelters and help spread the word about animals looking for homes.

04

Education & outreach

We bring animal welfare awareness into schools, libraries, and community groups through student-led projects.

Our current focus

Where we are right now.

We started in 2025 and are still in our early chapter. Here is the work in front of us this season.

Building partnerships

Continuing to grow steady working relationships with shelters, rescues, and community groups across Michigan.

Coordinating supply drives

Collecting and delivering supplies that partner shelters tell us they actually need.

Welcoming new volunteers

Inviting more students to join service projects, with clear roles and parent/guardian permission where required.

Our story

Started by students. Built around real local work.

Paws For A Cause was started in 2025 by a group of high school students in Okemos, Michigan who noticed that local shelters, rescues, and community animal groups often need more steady hands than they can find.

We are a student-led organization. We work with shelters and community partners, follow their guidance, and try to be useful in practical ways: showing up, sorting supplies, helping at events, and getting other students involved.

How we work

A simple, repeatable approach.

Every project follows roughly the same steps. Nothing flashy. Just steady, honest work.

01

Listen

We ask partner shelters and rescues what they actually need this month, then write it down.

02

Plan

We organize student volunteers, coordinate drop-off points, and confirm dates with our partners.

03

Show up

We run the drive or event, follow partner instructions, and deliver what was collected.

04

Recap

We share an honest recap and look at what could go better next time.

Partners we work with
